Basic Outline
While we are working hard on the amazing dashboard called The Observatory, it seemed to us that some folks might not mind the home-brew flavor of an iOS app if it meant they could get more detail than just an email - so here it is. It's only beautiful because we love it.
Wats(n) (hereafter The App) is a simple, quick app that allows the user to see what is happening on any given Constellation system that is authorized. It is part our proprietary CNC system architecture that provides control, oversight and the seamless blend between human and AI.
Internally we use it to carry out the following tasks;
Check on progress
Check ETA's for overall delivery and sub routines.
Add or remove people from the units notifications list.
Make queries of the system metadata libraries.
It was created as a way for the team to do all this from their phone.
The App has no means of showing original content, moving of transferring content or information, deleting or overwriting any files or making any changes to the system that would prevent or delay dailies deliverables. Further it cannot provide access to any such tasks through third party services.
Wats(n) is supplied totally free of charge. To qualify you must have an active production, be part of an affiliated studio or to have been invited by a team member. We may ask you questions to determine the suitability of The App for your use-case.
We are trialing the app with productions through Jan 2024 to make sure the additional use doesn't cause any issues so we apologize in advance if we aren't able to give everyone access. Staring in Feb we will roll it out on a first-come first-served basis, so get on the list early.
We reserve the right to deny, terminate or disable Wats(n) for any reason without notice or consideration.
Specs and Checks
Wats(n) may be small, but it packs a mighty toolset for us (Your version will have limited permissions). As such, you'll need to put away your iPhone 4S and your Android anything. Your 2006 Windows phone is right out. In fact, your older iPhone may well be too.
On the release of iOS 16 Apple added some powerful new tools and integrations that The App relies on to work. So....
iOS version 16.0 onwards and an iPhone (recommend 14 onwards, but may run on older versions. You are welcome to try, but read the Support section first)
If the app will not run properly on your device we will not be able to help you resolve it. We offer no warranty or Support of any kind.
Warranty
Absolutely none. Not in any way, shape or form. Neither Expressed nor implied etc etc.
The App may run off with your pick-up truck and your dog, it may do far worse, but we aren't to blame and we cannot be held accountable.
If you're the kind of person that fills out the warranty card for your new meat thermometer, this is probably not the software for you.
Support
Zero - like the temperature in far distant space. We do NOT offer any support or training outside of the user guide provided elsewhere on the website (here). We recommend STRONGLY that you read it because it is the last thing we will ever help you with.
You're on your own, but the good news is that we believe in you.
Your iOS device may be have a screen that is too small or other issue that prevents it from displaying or running correctly. We cannot help you.
Wats(n) is designed to work on the modern versions of hardware and Operating Systems that we own and use here at postMachina. Your mileage may vary, but we can't help you make it work.
Wats(n) may show you errors, or prompts that may lead you to believe there is an error or system issue. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US. Kindly remember that everyone in company has this app and much more at their disposal - they see the data before you do and answering your inquiry will not turn the situation around by even one degree. There may not even be an issue.
Non Disclosure, Non Compete
You agree that by downloading and / or operating this software you will not disseminate, reverse engineer, share, or in any way replicate, duplicate or cause to any such action taken by you or any other person over whom you have influence. Further, you agree that screenshots, pictures, drawings or other means of representation. Further you agree to keep private the data contained therein or any part of a graphical interface, information, text or images and acknowledge that such sharing, by any means whatsoever is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
Functionality
Features are constantly changing, especially as we share it with clients. Some features may be unavailable based on permissions that we set or changes to accommodate the needs of the internal dev team. You are, essentially, along for the ride with us. Sometimes those changes will involve a feature you relied on. See above.
Your access will be restricted to shows that we assign to you and permissions you set. Only we can make those changes. While there are many layers of active protection to prevent any cross-contamination of show data, you hereby agree to contact us immediately should you find that you have access to a show you are not directly involved with.
